HINGE LATCHES

HINGE LATCHES
Hinge latches are widely used to increase the stiffness of deployed devices. Both walking hinge latches were found unlatched during the predeployment inspection and were easily reset. Special hinge latches retain the guard in the open or closed positions.

Open the door and pull the door away from the system to release the door pins from the hinge latches. Manufacturer of engineered access control hardware services and solutions including fasteners, latches, hinges, handles and pulls.

One half of hinge mounts to top edge (or bottom edge) of door. Other half mounts to horizontal cabinet member directly above (and below) door. Latch hinges make excellent lid or door latches, or easily removable hinges.

Many can be used on both hinges and latches to create matching hardware sets. Improperly aligned latches and strike plates, or shorter than adequate screws on hinges, latches and strike plates can make even the sturdiest door pop open with a minimal amount of pressure.

It sets up and breaks down easily with a tug on the hinge latches and folds compactly to just 10 inches thick, taking up little of your car's trunk space. The cover, while in the closed position, can be temporarily completely attached to the body by latches afixed to the upper most exterior portion, at a predetermined position, of the remaining body wall, not previously engaged to the hinge .

  • The latches mate with corresponding latch mating pieces affixed to the exterior portion of the member not previously engaged with hinge at a predetermined position that matches the latch already in place on wall. Fold both hinges over so that they sit on the edge of the box, and drive the supplied screws through the hinge holes and into the side of the box.

Drive the rest of the screws supplied with the hinges through the hinge holes and into the side of the lid. Attach the bottom parts of the two latches to the box body so that the top is flush with the seam between the body and the lid.

The trigger hinge is set toward the top of the trigger. A pressure differential between the inside and outside of the cowling will tend to open the trigger if the pressure is great enough to overcome the spring and friction resistance.

The rigging of the cowling and the tensile loading on the latches before the occurrence could not be determined. It is considered probable, however, that the cowling would have opened sooner if the latches had not been engaged before take-off, as there is normally a pressure differential across the cowling that tends to force it open.
Both walking hinge latches were found unlatched during the predeployment inspection and were easily reset. The latches just open, the failures have been with the aluminum hinges between the top cowl halves, these should have been replaced by steel parts years ago.

These boxes are designed to stand up to professional use with increased wall thickness in the body and lid, full length steel hinge pins, steel latches and a steel riveted handle hold down.

The rear body side latches are backed up by top latches. Release handles are inside the cockpit, behind each seat, but either handle will release both latches. With the capability to rotate latches and hinges, the number of items to be inventoried was reduced further.

Position the magnetic latches on the window frame opposite from the hinges. Make pilot holes with the awl, then pre-drill holes. Attach the magnetic latches with screws.
