VOLTAGE TRANSFORMER

VOLTAGE TRANSFORMER
Dyco Electronics, Inc. is proud to offer a line of high voltage
transformer supplies for use with static neutralizing equipment.

Within a magnetic component for electrical components such as a voltage
transformer there is a capacitive effect that occurs between turns,
between layers, between windings (if there is more than one), between
winding and core and between winding and encapsulant. This os what is
known as distributed Capacitance (Cd).

  • A variable voltage transformer is an efficient method to alter voltage.
This is really important if you require more flexibility in changing
the ratio between the primary and secondary coils. A variable voltage
transformer is quite simple to use, and automatic adjustment controls
are available to keep a voltage output regulated. The degree of voltage
fluctuation you have depends upon the variable voltage transformer that
    is used.

Leakage flux causes a self inductance in a voltage transformer.
Typically, it is undesirable but it also unavoidable. It can be
minimized through various winding techniques but minimizing leakage
inductance has the unfortunate effect of increasing another parasitic
component, capacitance. Leakage inductance is usually measured by
shorting a secondary winding and measuring the value of series
    inductance across the primary winding.
A flux that does not link both windings is called leakage flux and has
the effect of adding an inductance that produces a voltage transformer
drop when current is present. Leakage is affected by the shape of the
core and by the arrangement of the windings.
